June 2006 was going by slow - friends were out of town, work hadn't picked up. Wondering if I could do something productive with my time, I googled hobby classes, language courses and then, volunteer groups.
Thats how I stumbled upon
Vibha's website. Two weeks later, I went to my first
Vibha volunteer group meeting in Atlanta and have been working with
Vibha ever since.
Volunteering with
Vibha has been rewarding at various levels. Foremost is the satisfaction of providing opportunities to
underprivileged children. All of us from India have seen these children - in the background, at traffic lights, on the side of the road, at construction sites - constrained by their circumstances. What we can do with
Vibha is to provide them with opportunities - opportunities to be schooled, opportunities to be healthy, opportunities to progress.

Volunteering with
Vibha is also about working with a dedicated group of people - being part of a team working towards a shared goal.
